Contracts may pay hourly or per-mile — either way, the full rate and terms are shown before you accept. Based on our Texas model, after business deductions for fuel, meals, and maintenance, 1099 drivers could net roughly 15-19% more than comparable W-2 positions. This structure is designed to meet IRS common-law factors and Texas TWC guidelines for independent contractor status. You’re never penalized for turning down a load or blocking days off.
